Job Description:

To assist the LS Functional lead in the provision of Scientific Services and Customer Support.  Lead the Glasswash team to provide the agreed range of Glasswash Services and activities to our customers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • To manage thier team in the overall provision and delivery of high quality glasswash services, as outlined in the statement of works, to GSK labs across site. These include, but are not limited to glass-washing functions and associated activity & sterilising autoclave processes

  • To be responsible for managing the work, training, development and safety of all reporting staff, dealing with operational and performance issues within the team. Escalation to line manager as appropriate

  • To assist in the recruitment process of suitable personnel into the team and to carry out suitable training programmes. Ensure training package is suitable and sufficient and that whole team are cross trained in all elements of service delivery.

  • Support the site in meeting performance targets, ensuring action plans are in place and completed for any nonconformance.

  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of data including any performance metrics.

  • Monitor all VOC with proactive resolution of complaints and appropriate recognition of good work by the team.

  • Ensure team compliance with regards to mandatory training such as GxP, safety, specific area rules and regulations.

  • To carry out regular level 1 audits of areas under supervision and to document all findings. Ensure actions arising are closed out in a timely fashion.

  • Ensure equipment checks are carried out as per working instructions.

  • To drive a culture of safe working by encouraging team to speak up if they have concerns about any working practise, promoting near miss reporting and timely reporting of accident and incidents with root cause analysis performed as necessary.

  • To provide input into scientific and technical 'best practice' and help develop and implement new procedures and equipment as required.

  • Work with all groups within area of responsibility to ensure that they operate safely and that all appropriate risk assessments, documentation and procedures are in place

  • Carry out half yearly & annual PDR's and provide coaching as necessary. Look for development opportunities for staff members.

  • Ensure the welfare of team members and provide support to staff where relevant.

  • To hold regular staff meetings and toolbox talks to ensure clear communication within the team, ensuring that they are minuted as necessary. Where actions arise from these meetings ensure that they are completed in a timely fashion or escalated appropriately

  • To carry out all requests in a helpful and professional manner, build relationships with key staff and consistently demonstrate a good customer service interface

  • To adhere to all company & client policies and procedures, site rules and regulations

  • To represent and promote the company wherever possible

  • To attend training course relevant to post and ensure this training is recorded PerkinEImer values the strength of a diverse workforce.

  • Carry out any other reasonable request as deemed necessary by the line manager.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to build valuable long-term relationships with customers and clients.

  • Strong team engagement, people management, and leadership skills.

  • Accurate and timely service delivery.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to engage at all levels.

  • Experience in a customer-facing environment.

  • Knowledge of compliance, Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) standards, and relevant legislation.

  • Facilities management experience within a relevant environment/contract.

  • 2+ years of progressively responsible supervisory experience in facilities management, ideally within the pharmaceutical industry.

  • GCSE grades A-C or equivalent in Maths and English.

  • A recognized Health & Safety qualification (e.g., IOSH) or demonstrable knowledge of Safety, Health, and Environmental legislation.

  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams.

  • Strong facilitation skills; comfortable chairing and leading meetings.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to motivate and train others, providing guidance to team members.

  • Goal-oriented, with a track record of working to and achieving set targets.

  • High moral standards, integrity, and a proactive, ‘can-do’ attitude.

  • Ability to support and assist the site team in achieving objectives.
