Responsibilities
Location Stevenage, GB Job ID REQ-053867Job Description Summary:
To provide day to day laboratory services required to support scientific groups at GSK Stevenage. These include, but are not limited to, glass-washing functions and ancillary activity, sterilisation processes as guided and timely completion of all relevant documentation.
Job Responsibilities
Perform routine daily collection of dirty laboratory glass and plasticware
Perform routine distribution of clean laboratory glass and plasticware to agreed storage locations.
Handwash of post-autoclaved Glasswash and plastics prior to cleaning using Glasswash machines.
Handwashing of items that are not suitable for cleaning using the Glasswash machines to an agreed standard.
Pre-wash rinsing of analytical glassware prior to ‘Glassware disposal’ as required.
Operation of the Steris Glasswash machines ensuring adherence to all relevant current work instructions and SOPs.
Check and prepare glassware and plastics for sterilising using autoclave and dry heat ovens.
To carry out routine checks on all equipment and to report any problems to the area team leader or supervisor.
Stock check and replenish consumables associated with all activities in scope using the correct procedures.
To ensure that all records are maintained in accordance with compliance guidelines and to provide data for monthly reports on performance and service delivery
During his/her duties the post holder may have access to, or witness confidential information, which must NOT be divulged to an unauthorised person at any time.
Complete any Helpdesk requests within the set time frames
Adhere to all company & client policies, procedures, site rules and regulations.
Comply with all company & client procedures relating to Health & Safety & safe working practices.
Maintain training and compliance in areas of health and safety, security, environmental and operational aspects of daily activities in the working environment.
