Responsibilities
Location Mölndal, SE Job ID REQ-053774The main focus of the Project Engineer will be to ensure that all equipment and instruments are moved in a timely, cost effective and correct manner in relocations related to the lab4Life portfolio. This includes mapping the equipment that will be moved, what is needed to install the equipment in the new location, ensuring the prerequisites are included in the plan, how It can be moved and who will perform the relocation. The role will work close to the Lab4Life project leader and colleges within PerkinElmer to ensure the relocation is smooth and cause minimal interrupts for the business. The role will also handle the planning of third-party visits and assistance during their visit.
The role is approx. 75% administrative and 25% practical. The practical part includes physical moves (incl lifting) and media connections.
A secondary focus will be to support relocations and installations that require more planning and coordination than normally. The tasks are very similar to the tasks above but in most cases you will work closely with the CAPEX team and other PE colleges instead of a dedicated project team.
When time allows you may be involved in other technical projects related to PerkinElmer’s scope on site ot provide support for other teams.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule lab moves in collaboration with L4L project leader and other PE teams
- Keep PE teams and management update on progress and future plans
- Collect and share relevant instrument data.
- Ensure equipment can be moved in a safe and compliant manner.
- Review perquisites in drawings and at location to ensure confirm lab readiness for equipment.
- Obtain and negotiate quotes and raise POs according to existing processes.
- Procure and drive engagement of appropriate outsourced tools and resources such as external suppliers.
- Collaborate with other One-FM suppliers such as Caverion, Sodexo and Avantor
- Physically move instruments as needed.
- Work together with enter and exit team to ensure a smooth lab move.
- Escort suppliers during lab moves.
- Uphold constant communication with customers to address progress, including accomplishments, challenges and deliverables to maintain transparency.
- Perform similar tasks as above for new installations and relocations not related to projects.
- Be involved in other projects related to PerkinElmer scope.
- Resource for technical operation teams when project related workload is low.
- Maintain training and compliance in areas of health and safety, security, environmental and operational aspects of daily activities in the working environment.

Basic Qualifications:
- Technical training or equivalent experience
- Proven Experience from equipment/machine installations
- Project management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Some form of proven project coordination in a technical environment
- Good knowledge about lab equipment in general
Working Environment:
- Must be able to work in a laboratory, controlled environments requiring personal protective equipment (e.g., lab coat, safety glasses, etc.) in laboratory.
- Job pace may be fast and job completion demands may be high.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position more than 25% of the time
- The person needs to occasionally move between labs, corridors, adjoining rooms, and buildings onsite Frequently operate on instruments, objects, tools or controls, which will require regularly bending, squatting, stretching and reaching in order to perform in a service function.
- Occasionally move or lift up to 25 pounds (potential for occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds).
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include without limitation, the ability to observe details at close range distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus in order to perform the essential service functions of this position.
- Occasionally operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
- Employee may be required to handle hazardous waste according to local, state, and federal regulations. Duties may include identifying, handling, generating, accumulating, storing and labeling hazardous waste.
- Potential risk to lab-based hazards including but not limited to extreme temperature, biological materials, and hazardous chemicals.
- May be required to complete Medical Clearance, Respiratory Protection Training, and Fit Testing to wear a respirator as protection against hazards present in the laboratory environment.
