The Field Service Engineer will provide technical service and support to Solus Scientific customers on all Solus DS2 diagnostic instrumentation across UK.
This is a field-based role so candidates based in central England would be ideally suited to cover the territory
Responsibilities
- Provide remote technical support, including troubleshooting to the Solus customer base.
- Provide technical onsite support, breakdown and preventative maintenance to Solus customer base.
- Carry out company related tasks requested by the senior engineer or senior management.
- Install and relocate diagnostic instrumentation when required.
- Upgrade instrument software, firmware and hardware when required.
- Maintain and audit personal stock levels and perform month end department stock control.
- Attend training courses, both in-house and at manufacturer sites.
- Perform module repairs in the Solus workshop or arrange for repair with manufacture.
- Check and commission new and reconditioned DS2’s for shipment.
- Service department travel is planned to be effective in both service and cost to company
- As a key member of staff, you have general corporate governance responsibilities over the company’s affairs and protocols as detailed in the company handbook and employment contract
- All Service department work is carried out in accordance with our ISO 9001 quality system.
Basic Qualifications
- HND or equivalent in Electronic Engineering or a Biotechnology discipline
- Full UK Driving License
Competencies
- Ability to communicate in a professional manner with customers on all levels, providing service information, technical data and general help as necessary.
- Ability to communicate internally; orally and in writing.
- Negotiating and influencing skills
- Understanding of excellent Customer Service
