The Perkin Elmer Analytical Chemistry Support Coordinator will join the team based on one of our client sites. The successful Candidate will work with Laboratory Team and alongside the client scientific community. The role involves the coordination and performance of analytical tests using automated equipment to support experimental workflows and coordination of equipment repairs and preventative maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cross functional working supporting colleagues and on-site customer Teams.

  • Conduct high throughput work using automated robot to execute experimental workflow.

  • Assist in sample preparation and running analytical experiments using predefined protocols on chromatography (UPLC) equipment.

  • Perform daily upkeep and simple repair/calibrations on the equipment.

  • Coordination of equipment repairs and preventive maintenance supporting the scientific team with escalation to suppliers.

  • Assist the technical lead to help develop new methods and in managing the workflow within the group.

  • Accurately input data into client compliance databases ensuring data integrity and adhering to Laboratory notebook practices.

  • Maintain training and compliance in areas of cGMP, health and safety, security, environmental and operational aspects of daily activities in the working environment.

  • Support equipment installation and decommission through change control process.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of UPLC analytical and preparative techniques

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and effective interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Team player with the ability to work on own initiative or with minimal supervision.

  • A-levels or equivalent with 1-2 years of direct experience of working within a lab environment ideally with chromatographic equipment and data analysis.

  • Must be able to work in a laboratory, controlled environments requiring personal protective equipment (e.g., lab coat, safety glasses, etc.).

Desirable:

  • Experience with lab automation and compound analysis.

  • Experience in problem-solving skills and instrument troubleshooting regarding UPLC and automation.

  • Degree or HND in Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry or similar scientific discipline with experience with chromatographic equipment and data analysis.
