Purpose:

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting multiple production lines and ensuring continuous manufacturing. This role is both reactive to ensure continuous manufacturing and being first point of contact for any issues and actions, whilst also being proactive in supporting and driving change to achieve our business goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate/project manage continuous process improvement activities across the facility to include NPI activities, improve existing production/manufacturing process improvements, supplier process improvement
  • Ensure downtime is kept to a minimum on dedicated production lines with quick problem solving. Identifying areas of waste to reduce downtime further
  • Use of lean manufacturing tools and techniques to support the above
  • Use and application of problem-solving tools and techniques/methodologies.
  • Drive performance metrics across the shop floor
  • Collaborate with R&D and other teams to ensure delivery of KPIs and improvements
  • Lead significant cost saving project opportunities to support site level targets
  • Support justification for investment opportunities and supporting business case for improvement projects

Basic Qualification:

  • HNC/HND/Degree qualification

Preferred Characteristics:

  • Production/Manufacturing/Process engineering background in similar industry
  • Proven capability in the use and application of lean manufacturing/process improvement tools and techniques.
  • Results driven and clear track record of delivering improvement and value add.
  • Demonstrate evidence of process improvement activities.
  • Commercially astute - able to see the bigger picture.
  • Driver of change, able to motivate positive attitude in others.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Comfortable in a hands-on role within a strong team culture
  • IT literate
