Location Kraków, PL Job ID REQ-052614We are currently looking for a highly motivated and collaborative Bid Manager within the global OneSource Laboratory Services business. This position is accountable for enabling on-time, comprehensive, and high-quality customer RFx (Request for Proposals, Request for Information, Request for Quote, etc.) responses. This is accomplished through this role’s capabilities to manage, coordinate, and mediate negotiations amongst internal cross-functional teams from receipt to decision enabling bid-appropriate responses that satisfy customer and internal goals.
A successful candidate in the role requires a high degree of collaboration, communication, detail-orientation, prioritization, and project management skills with experience in similar roles.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: RFx’s, expansion opportunities for existing customers, renewals, bid defense negotiation support, post-inventory validations, new commercialization opportunities, and defining and implementing process and system efficiencies and improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development of product and service RFx responses as a Program Manager
Collaborate and build strong relationships with diverse team members including sales, service delivery, global account managers, marketing, finance, pricing, legal, and other stakeholders
Provide input to strategic decisions that affect operational functional areas
Manage internal stakeholders and assist in the development of meaningful strategies and content designed to drive profitable growth and strength in concisely articulating the strategy verbally and visually from RFx receipt through completion to customer and internal satisfaction
Grow total gross margin dollars by managing and enabling bid submissions that encourage higher sale values, conversion rates, inelasticity, margin rates, and customer satisfaction on-time
Collects and analyzes moderately complex financial, statistical, and strategic information to develop and maintain tools & infrastructures to communicate status updates to internal stakeholders on individual and overall bid management activity
Lead bid management related projects including establishing timelines, defining deliverables, and drafting communications or presentations
Ensure SOPs are consistently used and keep detailed notes memorializing approaches used for future reference. Maintain a central database of responses and Intellectual Property with up-to-date content and data.
Develop and maintain best practices, processes, procedures, standards, systems, and tools to ensure global alignment while constantly looking for efficiencies and improvements to implement yielding enhanced quality of response, efficiency of process, and overall performance
Collaborate and work closely with an international internal stakeholder team made up of sales and service business; global account managers, marketing, finance, pricing, supply chain, and other subject matter experts (SMEs), legal, and other stakeholders to ensure collaboration and high-quality, and timely delivery of global responses
Resolve issues through proper coordination, escalation, and collaboration with all levels
Maintain knowledge while being well-informed of industry developments and bid management methodologies
Basic Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor’s degree and 3 to 7 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of experience and education in Communication, Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Marketing, Education, or a related field
Excellent time management prioritization skills with demonstrated ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment, working on multiple projects with constantly changing priorities and deadlines
Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
Strong leadership, decision making, analytical (qualitative & quantitative), and problem-solving abilities
Superior written and oral communication skills that enable meaningful cross-functional discussions with key stakeholders and ability to lead project teams
Highly collaborative and results driven with a customer-centric approach
Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, Teams, Excel, and the entire MS Suite and database software such as SAP, etc.
Practical knowledge and experience analyzing data, program metrics, and performance with BI tools, Business Objects, Salesforce, CPQ, Spotfire, etc.
Ability to support projects based in any global region.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in communication, Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Marketing, Education, or a related field
Experience with RFx Activity (Bid Management)
Life science, pharmaceutical, or medical industry experience
Prior experience with new process and system development, preferably with a bid management focus
