Responsibilities

- Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of cybersecurity measures to protect systems, networks, and data.
- Support the administration of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, and other security infrastructure components under supervision.
- Participate in regular security audits to help identify and report potential vulnerabilities.
- Monitor system activities for unusual patterns or potential threats, and report findings to senior team members.
- Contribute to the incident response team under guidance, assisting in handling security breaches and learning effective response strategies.
- Help in developing and testing plans for emergency responses and system recovery.
- Support the development and enforcement of cybersecurity policies and procedures, learning industry standards and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments, learning how to integrate security practices across various functions.
- Assist in preparing regular reports on the organization's security posture for review by senior staff.
- Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity trends, tools, and best practices, under the guidance of more experienced team members.
- Participate in training and development sessions to enhance cybersecurity knowledge and skills.
- Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- 0-1 years of experience in a cybersecurity role or internship, or from a University, with a strong understanding of network infrastructure and database security.
- Proficiency in various security technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and encryption.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Excellent English speaking and writing ability.
- Potential Travel 10%
Preferred Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+) are preferred.
- Operational Technology (OT) security experience at a global manufacturing company
- Ability to script in languages such as – python, shell, ruby, perl
- Corporate IT / help desk experience
