Position Overview: PerkinElmer is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as a Manager, Sourcing. In this role, you will play a critical part in shaping our global sourcing strategy, ensuring the efficient procurement of goods and services to support our mission and business objectives. The ideal candidate will bring strategic thinking, strong negotiation skills, and a proven track record in developing and managing supplier relationships.

Reporting:  This individual will report into the Sourcing Excellence Project Manager and contribute to our Low-Cost Country Sourcing Project to optimize cost ($25M+ reduction), improve supply chain efficiency, and enhance overall competitiveness.  This individual will play a key role in supporting the project team from initiation to completion – expected to be 18-24 months in duration with ~19 waves of sourcing, covering 9 commodities and 2,000 + part numbers. This role requires Sourcing experience with a proven track record of successfully delivering broad international sourcing deliverables on time, within scope, and on budget. The Sourcing Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Sourcing, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance) and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Sourcing Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies aligned with PerkinElmer's business objectives, ensuring cost-effectiveness and supplier performance. Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to drive collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Negotiation and Contract Management: Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and agreements. Manage contracts effectively to mitigate risks and ensure compliance. Market Research and Analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and technological advancements. Conduct regular analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, including but not limited to R&D, Operations, and Finance, to understand their sourcing needs and align strategies accordingly. Supplier Diversity and Sustainability: Drive initiatives to enhance supplier diversity and sustainability, aligning with PerkinElmer's commitment to corporate responsibility. Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain, ensuring continuity of supply and minimizing disruptions. Performance Metrics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and monitor the effectiveness of sourcing strategies. Provide regular reports and analysis to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field. Advanced degree (MBA) is a plus.
  • Proven experience (10 years) in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in a global organization.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with relevant sourcing tools and technologies.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
