The Kitting Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the kitting team, ensuring that materials and components are accurately and efficiently prepared for production. This includes managing the team, organizing tasks, maintaining quality control, and ensuring adherence to safety standards. The role requires excellent leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced warehouse or manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership and Supervision:
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of kitting associates to meet production and safety targets.
- Provide ongoing coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members.
- Delegate tasks and ensure the team works efficiently and meets deadlines.
- Monitor team performance, providing support and resolving any issues as they arise.
- Kitting Operations:
- Oversee the preparation and assembly of components and materials for production or distribution (e.g., picking, packing, and organizing kits).
- Ensure the accuracy of orders and proper inventory management for kitting materials.
- Collaborate with production, inventory, and quality teams to ensure timely and accurate kit assembly.
- Maintain an organized work environment, ensuring kitting areas are tidy, efficient, and safe.
- Quality Control:
- Ensure all kits meet required specifications and quality standards before being sent to production or shipping.
- Perform regular inspections and audits of completed kits to verify accuracy and quality.
- Report any discrepancies, damaged goods, or quality issues to management and assist in resolving them.
- Inventory and Stock Management:
- Monitor inventory levels of kitting components, ensuring stock is available as required and maintaining accurate stock counts.
- Assist with inventory audits and support the stock replenishment process when necessary.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of components to avoid damage or loss.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure the team follows all health and safety procedures and that safety equipment is in use at all times.
- Conduct regular safety briefings and ensure adherence to safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with warehouse standards.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve quality.
- Implement best practices and participate in problem-solving activities to resolve operational challenges.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Candidates with relevant certifications in shipping, warehousing, or logistics management will have an advantage.
- At least 4-5 years of relevant working experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics operations, preferably within a fast-paced multinational manufacturing environment.
- Good working knowledge of ERP systems, specifically SAP, for inventory processing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, for reporting and documentation.
- Proven experience in a warehouse or production environment, preferably in a kitting or assembly role.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
