PerkinElmer is seeking a motivated and experienced Sales Professional to accelerate the growth of our Solus Scientific food safety solutions, which test for the presence and absence of important food pathogens in the food industry using antibody-based tests.
The successful candidate for this role will be expected to successfully drive sales growth by prospecting new customers and retaining our existing customers within an assigned territory or geography and provide expertise and customer service to accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a strong operational technical knowledge of the food market prouct portfolio.
- Develop, implement and execute a strategic business plan to grow PerkinElmer's food testing business in the assigned territory.
- Responsible for all aspects of territory management, including prospecting, establishing and maintaining relationships with testing laboratories and food testing accounts, and securing new and existing customer agreements.
- Responsible for establishing and managing local distributors and dealers.
- Organize effective seminars and presentations.
- Manage and maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities, provide accurate forecasts and successfully convert pipeline into sales to meet territory sales quota.
- Demonstrate strong initiative and be willing to take responsibility for results.
- Maintain knowledge of Solus Scientific products, as well as knowledge of competitor products, prepare, document and update Solus presentation materials accordingly.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Significant successful sales experience.
Proven ability to meet and exceed an annual sales quota in excess of $2 million
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships at a high level within large strategic accounts
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- Professional English (written and spoken) / Additional languages a plus
- Self-motivated and energetic with a results-oriented approach to achieving daily objectives/activities
- Ability to learn new systems and retain technical information
- Experience in product/service launches and end-user training
- Valid driving license
- Willingness to travel frequently and 50% of travel will be at night
- Ideally but not necessarily : knowledge in food safety / food safety diagnostic technologies and/or experience in life sciences and clinical diagnostics
