Purpose

PerkinElmer is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join our team as the Global Quality Director. This pivotal role will be responsible for driving transformational initiatives and upholding the highest standards of quality across our global operations.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive global quality strategy aligned with the company's overall objectives and growth initiatives.
  • Quality Management System (QMS) Enhancement: Oversee the enhancement and optimization of our Quality Management System to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and elevate quality standards throughout the organization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate quality considerations into product development, manufacturing, supply chain, and customer support processes.
  • Risk Management: Develop and implement robust risk management processes to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate quality-related risks across all aspects of the business.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory standards and requirements governing our products and operations, both domestically and internationally.
  • Quality Metrics and Reporting: Define key quality metrics and establish reporting mechanisms to monitor performance, identify trends, and drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Supplier Quality Management: Partner with supply chain stakeholders to establish and maintain rigorous supplier quality management processes, including supplier qualification, audits, and performance monitoring.
  • Talent Development: Attract, retain, and develop top talent within the quality organization, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous learning.

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience Level: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in quality management roles within the life sciences, healthcare, or related industries.
  • Industry Experience: Solid background in analytical equipment manufacturing and familiarity with the complexities of diverse sectors like chemical, medical, life sciences, environmental, and oil and gas industries.
  • Quality Management Expertise: Must Possess extensive experience in quality management systems, including ISO 9001 and 13485 standards, Six Sigma, Lean methodologies, and other relevant quality frameworks specific to analytical equipment manufacturing.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of global regulatory requirements such as FDA regulations for medical devices, REACH, RoHS, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and especially ISO standards.
  • Global Perspective: Given the role's global scope, the candidate must have experience managing quality operations across diverse geographical locations and cultural contexts, demonstrating the ability to implement consistent quality standards worldwide.
  • Strategic Leadership: Capable of developing and executing a strategic vision for quality assurance and improvement initiatives aligned with the company's overall business objectives and growth strategies.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills and a track record of effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, sales, service, and customer support, to drive quality excellence throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset: Fosters a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and learning within the quality organization, driving efficiency gains and product enhancements over time.
  • Risk Management Skills: Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate quality-related risks across the supply chain, proactively addressing potential issues before they impact product quality or customer satisfaction.
  • Data-driven Decision Making: Leverages data analytics and quality metrics to drive decision-making processes, monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and implementing data-driven strategies to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Change Management Experience: Experience leading organizational change initiatives, adapting quality processes to evolving market conditions, technological advancements, and customer requirements.

The annual compensation range for this full-time position is $160,000 to $230,000 . The final base pay offered to the successful candidate will be determined by factors including internal equity, work location, as well as individual qualifications, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
