Job Summary

Our IT organization is seeking a Sr. IT Specialist who will coordinate phone, email and help requests from customers in need of IT technical support. Provide support and installation of hardware and software and make recommendations on PC platform.  Discuss with users the best practices for PC maintenance and performance. Basic networking knowledge and troubleshooting skills are required as well as TCP/IP, wireless, VPN, and NAT. Perform all levels of technical support for computer hardware, operating system, network connectivity, desktop applications, business applications, printing and email. Work with business customers, internal IT Staff and 3rd party vendors to identify, coordinate, escalate and resolve technical support issues. Configuration Management duties to properly track, maintain and document configuration standards for all hardware, operating systems and application software utilized by PerkinElmer. Maintains strict service level agreements. Uses IT Ticketing System to ensure timely resolution of customer requests and support inquiries. Provides technical advice, guidance and informal training to customers using hardware and software programs. Troubleshoots and restores routine technical service and equipment problems by analyzing, identifying, and diagnosing faults and symptoms using established processes and procedures. Performs root cause analysis and develops methodology for typical client technology problems.

This position is located in Woodbridge ON, but travel is required to support additional sites in Bolton, ON, Guelph, ON and Kitchener ON.

Job Requirements:

A University degree or college diploma in Information Technology or Computer Science.
Minimum 5+ years of quality work experience as a Technician supporting a 500+ user environment.
Industry recognized certifications (MCP, MCSA, CCNA) and Microsoft Certified Desktop Technician or equivalent knowledge and experience.
CompTIA A+ Certification, CompTIA Network + Certification.
Ability to effectively multi-task in a high-activity, high-performance atmosphere.
Experience with Anti-virus, mobile devices and encryption is required.
Professional and MCSE Windows or equivalent knowledge and experience.
Experience with internal and external ITIL standards and methodologies desired.
Minimum 5 years installing, configuring, troubleshooting and repairing applications and systems: MS Windows  Operating Systems, Office 365, Active Directory, Intel-based desktop/laptop hardware, iOS and Android smartphones and Local & LAN based printing, VPN, Network devices, LAN Connectivity.
