PerkinElmer is looking for a Human Resources Business Partner based in our R&D site in Woodbridge, Ontario. In this role you will collaborate with Business Leaders, Management Teams, and HR team members along with our HR Centers of Excellence to deliver a wide range of HR activities for approximately 100 employees based in Canada.

Location: On site 4 days per week in our Woodbridge, Ontario office with the option for one remote day per week.

Responsibilities

In this role you will serve as the HR Business Partner on organizational and business initiatives and activities including:

Culture

  • Facilitating culture and communications throughout the organization; work with leaders to ensure successful implementation of change efforts
  • Deliver strong HR services, reduce complexity and partner with managers to maximize team performance

Talent/Recruitment

  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to recruit top talent and track progress towards hiring goals
  • Conducting interviews, making hiring recommendations, and provide feedback on candidates
  • Work with leaders to ensure the offer approval and headcount requisition processes are followed as outlined
  • Serve as trusted business partner in talent reviews, organizational design, performance improvement and coaching discussions.  
  • Identify, recommend, implement/facilitate appropriate people development activities to facilitate individual, team and organizational needs.

Employee Relations

  • Build strong collaborative partnerships with business leaders to drive HR initiatives and support the overall business strategy.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR issues, performance management, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and employee engagement.
  • Address and resolve employee relations issues in a timely manner.
  • Champion employee engagement and retention initiatives.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Partnership with the Total Rewards COE for compensation plans, salary planning, performance management, and recognition programs that are in line with the organization’s goals.
  • Provide support in salary benchmarking and other compensation reviews and discussions.
  • Coordinate Employee Benefits and Pension plans, including submissions, enrollment to benefits plans, answer benefits-related questions and keep a good up-to-date record of all new applicants and participants (and the level of respective benefits) and address all benefits plans related queries/questions.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to the payroll team in regard to severance requirements on terminations. Verifying if severance is eligible or ineligible in compliance with all Provincial Employment Standards Act.

Compliance and Policy

  • Help to ensure that the company adheres to federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
  • Support company policies and processes ensuring alignment with company goals and identifying areas for improvement.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in human resources, organizational development / talent management / high growth environment.

Preferred Characteristics

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience partnering with commercial or service leaders is preferred.
  • Proven ability to be successful in a complex, matrix, goal-driven organization
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, HR best practices, and HRIS systems.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Confidence to voice opinions & ideas to leadership.
  • Ability to support and coach leaders, when appropriate.
  • Clear and concise communication style.
  • Self-starter who isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty.
