We are looking for a hard-working individual to work in a at a customer site West Point, Pa. This position is vital to supporting the client’s lab operations team. The ideal candidate will have a background in science or engineering and have experience with general lab support and Metrology.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform metrology functions in a GMP facility.

  • Assist end-users with troubleshooting equipment to Asset / component level

  • Assist with calibration of freezers, incubators, balances/scales, and other systems

  • Interface with end-users on a frequent basis and attends meetings as agreed.

  • Coordinates the schedule for Asset calibrations at the Facility.

  • Process requests for Asset service, confirming Asset coverage and service provider, and identifying events to facilitate proper billing.

  • Review and schedule Asset preventive maintenance and other scheduled compliance activities (OQ, PQ and validation).

  • Input data from Field Service Reports into the customer system of record.

  • Work with Operations team on special projects as needed.    

  • Update appropriate documentation of instrument usage and maintenance history

  • Assist with maintaining laboratory stocks of supplies and reagents

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree Required.

  • 2+ years of experience working in a laboratory environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Will be self-driven and will have strong communication (both verbal and written) skills

  • Must pay attention to details

  • Able to use and understand the basic functions of Excel

  • Monitor & respond to email and web portal to confirm requests in a timely manner.

Physical Demands

  • The overall physical exertion of this position requires:

  • Sit or stand 2-3 hours in laboratory areas.

  • Walk 2-3 hours within a facility.

  • Reach above/below the shoulder, bend at the knees and waist.

  • Office work activities, including keyboard, with fingers/hands/arms up to 4 hours.

  • Work around moving laboratory equipment and machinery.

  • Use of personal protective equipment in laboratory.

  • Work with biohazards such as blood borne pathogens.

Working Environment

  • Must be able to work in a laboratory, controlled environments requiring personal protective equipment.

  • Job pace may be fast and job completion demands may be high.

  • Employee maybe required to manage hazardous wastes in compliance with company procedures & State/Federal/Local hazardous waste regulations. Duties may include: Identifying, handling, generating, accumulating, storing, labeling.

  • Ensure safety, security, and the environment in all aspect of the daily activities, and any potential safety hazards are addressed and corrected immediately.

  • Understand ergonomic relationship between people, equipment and working environment.
