Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Sourcing, the Sr. Manager of Indirect Sourcing will be responsible for building and leading a team of commodity managers tasked with driving value across the organization in the form of year-over year cost savings, service / performance enhancements, quality improvements and risk mitigation strategies. This individual will need to establish strong collaborative relationships with senior leaders in functional areas to develop category strategies that align with project requirements, scopes, and timelines. Additionally, this individual will partner with global and regional facilities throughout the PerkinElmer network to drive procurement through the supply chain team and eliminate unmanaged spend. Key commodity areas include, but are not limited to: Fleet, Marketing, Professional Services, Human Resources, Facilities, R&D, Clinical Sciences, and MROs (materials, repairs, and operation).
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Developing strategies from the ‘ground-up’ from implementations to optimization of the Global Indirect Material & Services spend and consumption while maintaining the best value and quality for PerkinElmer.
Guiding PerkinElmer functional groups in discovery, contract negotiation, optimizing economic value, on-time delivery of product & services, cost management & reduction, supplier & partner risk mitigation, and scope of work development.
Driving best practices for sourcing management across all organizations.
Leading the development of RFx requirement through the full process of selection, contracting, and supplier management.
Delivering savings and payment term improvements and other value-added contributions to PerkinElmer’s P&L.
Working with Finance to track cost reductions to departmental budgets and, ultimately, the P&L.
Communicating, implementing, & monitoring Global Procurement policies, procedures, & systems.
Leading efforts with legal and functional partners to capture SOW (Statement of Work) & requirements for supplier contract execution.
Leading the ongoing Contract Management program ensuring that 100% of Indirect contracts are uploaded and maintained in contract management systems.
Continually updating the spend analysis system to provide accurate spend data.
Providing intelligence on industry trends and best practices to develop future strategies.
Enhancing commodity data and reporting to both the Global Procurement Team and the business at large.
Establishing proactive business reviews with managers to communicate spend impact and opportunities for improvement.
Providing leadership and development to a team of professionals that sets high quality standards for performance and is committed to organizational goals, including assigning responsibilities; hiring, training, motivating and coaching employees; assessing and recommending appropriate staffing levels; managing employee performance; and providing helpful feedback and training opportunities
Requires travel 10%
Minimum 10 years of global indirect procurement experience with experience managing approximately $200M in global spend across indirect materials & services.
Direct experience or familiarity with sourcing the following categories: IT, Professional Services, HR, Marketing, Fleet, Facilities/MRO, Utilities etc.
Technically proficiency with MS Office suite, especially Excel & PowerPoint
Experienced in establishing and supporting strategic supplier relationship management programs
Self-starter who needs limited oversight to deliver measurable results
The ability to lead and influence is a must
A demonstrated ability to think strategically and act as a thought partner with teammates, senior leadership, and key stakeholders is important.
Demonstrated experience using quantitative and analytical data to translate analysis into management insights, actions, and results
Strong negotiation skills with complex purchases and a proven savings track record
Ability to read, edit and negotiate legal agreements and work collaboratively with attorneys
Demonstrated success in performing spend analysis, managing the entire RFQ, RFP process, and negotiating and managing large, complex contracts in corporate environment
Proficient in e-sourcing tools a plus
Knowledge of ERP systems a plus
Experience in leading and managing sourcing projects and support cross functional internal organizations
Demonstrated ability to attract and retain high performing talent
Ability to communicate effectively. Excellent presentation skills
