Location Waltham, MassachusettsUS Job ID JR-019175TheSenior Software Service Specialist in Informatics will provide expertise, solutions, and strategy to various clients on Research Analytic Informatics needs. They will work as a trusted Biology and Pharmaceutical Drug Candidate Screening Workflow SME (Subject Matter Expert) providing technical expertise to a wide range of Consulting Services in building TIBCO Spotfire® enabled Analytical Solutions. They will possess comprehensive understanding of the organization’s Consulting Models and Methodologies as well as an extensive knowledge of Informatics Services provided by PerkinElmer. In addition, they will provide mentoring and guidance to junior team members on technical, scientific and/or business issues and supports knowledge-centered activities within the company.
Basic Qualifications:
Masters level degree in sciences, healthcare, engineering or a related field required; advanced degrees (MBA, MS, MPH, PhD) in sciences, mathematics, healthcare, or business preferred
5+ years’ experience in SDLC/agile data analytics in Invitro\Invivo Science domains. Genomics, metabolomics or proteomics experience is a plus
5+ years of external client-facing business analysis experience in life sciences, preferably biotech or pharma
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative management style
Strong customer facing experience working in a fast paced, growth environment in configuring and deploying COTS enterprise applications is needed
Proven experience in applying informatics technologies to business problems amidst cross-functional teams
Experience with advanced statistics/analytics and big data technologies is a plus
Knowledge of databases, data architecture and system design are preferred
Knowledge of scripting languages preferably in R, Python is a plus
Planning, prioritizing, reporting, problem solving and analytical capabilities
Attentive to detail with high concern for quality, and a zeal to learn
Key Accountabilities – Informatics Development and Business Analysis for In vivo, In vitro, DMPK, and PreClinical Safety domains -
Work structure approximates into 1/3rd of technical delivery, 1/3rd consulting, and 1/3rd of project management
Build TIBCO Spotfire Analyses and applications with PerkinElmer Informatics products for Research Use Cases. Serves as the trusted Subject Matter Expert in Screening and BioAssay analytics products and standard services offerings
Works individually (as a business analyst) or in a team environment (as a technical leader) within the project guidelines to execute work plans with a focus on customer satisfaction, work quality, timeliness and risk mitigation
Understand Research data well to deliver well-designed customer solutions over an iterative-design process
Collaborates with project manager(s) for general project support e.g. project status tracking/reporting, and with project team members in guiding them towards project delivery and success
Helps team prioritize the workload, incorporate lessons learnt from the past to achieve the project goals with supreme quality in balance with time, and cost; attests project quality before customer delivery
Identifies and capitalizes on opportunities to improve project efficiency and team performance and acts proactively
Assess, analyze and communicate changing market situations to senior management with facts and data
Consulting Activities - Analytic Development, Relationship Management, Business Development -
Expert communication skills with ability to distill complex ideas into plain language is essential
Consult with clients to suggest, demonstrate, and deliver appropriate business solutions based on their needs, resolving issues and ambiguities
Establish themselves as a trusted partner with clients in providing them a wide range of clinical research consulting services, and resolving their business problems leveraging technical expertise, domain knowledge and best practices
Completes and delegates project activities in a timely manner with an understanding of issues which may impact project profitability and client satisfaction
Demonstrated ability to interact professionally at multiple levels including senior and executive management within a client organization
Excellent planning and delivery of services resulting in client satisfaction and long-term customer relationships
Actively prospects and leverages new business opportunities with client and industry contacts in collaboration with account management
Presents information about PKI service offerings reflecting the organization’s capability and leveraging business development skills to support client needs
Participates in project scoping calls and proposal preparation, delivers sales presentations as needed
