The Service Sales Account Manager provides support and administration for driving growth through selling extended warranty, service agreements, upselling existing service contracts, promoting the entire service portfolio including aftermarket (consumables) and increasing service market shares.

Assists in the development of accounts/customers in the assigned territory, proactively looking to expand business with new customers and maintaining the existing ones with high levels of customer satisfaction, providing pre-and post-sales advice to customers to grow PerkinElmer’s market shares, revenues and profitability consistent with strategic business goals.

This will be achieved by working with the support of Customer Care and Service Sales Team, developing at the same time a strong relationship with Service Delivery on all activities which contribute to the acquisition, recovery, satisfaction and retention of service customers and the efficient and effective use of service processes.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Focus on the efficient administration of the contract renewalsand one time offer request: able to execute the full contract renewal process remotely for a selected group of customers / territory and negotiate and provide to customer the quotation for short term business.
  • Follow up on open contracts, billable estimates, training and upgrades and manage Sales Plans by pushing on business expansion activities with new and existing customers.
  • Pipeline Management and development within assigned territory: balance of short-, mid- and long-term prospects sufficient for the continuous attainment of territory targets. Regularly performs business analysis focused on the continuous improvement of sales processes and results.
  • Negotiating terms, conditions and pricing, and ensure they are accurately executed and satisfied.
  • Proactively contacting customers to confirm contact details and coverage/instrumentation on quotation is still valid

  • Ability to verbally and quickly connect with a wide variety of science-oriented business professionals at all levels

  • Comfortable and natural approach to objection handling
  • Excellent organization and follow up skills, with extremely strong attention to detail
  • Team oriented with ability to thrive in a fast-paced and energy filled environment
  • Persistence to get the job done with willingness to learn and adapt on a daily basis
  • A dependable, responsible and reliable individual with a self-starter mentality, and ability to work independently
  • A fundamental understanding of sales & marketing processes, from campaigns through prospecting to sales hand-off.
  • Excited to conduct outbound email and telephone activities to meet required contacts per lead on an everyday basis
  • Experience working with a CRM such as SAP, SvMx, SFDC and Sales Loft
  • Experience in the business areas of diagnostics, life science research, food, environmental and industrial testing preferred, but not required
  • Excellent English, French, Italian and Spanish languages (both written and verbal)
  • This position will require 0-15% travel


  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred

Professional Skills

  • Computer: Knowledge of key software applications, solid expertise on ServiceMax and SAP
  • Customer service experience is a plus
  • Ability to resolve problems through research and critical thinking to obtain resolution independently via technical resources including manuals and databases, etc.

  • Foster collaboration and teamwork in a complex, fast-paced, changing environment to deliver value-added results to the organization. Collaborate well with all PKI organizations.
