TheSr.Manager, Operationsis responsible forthe technical performanceof projectsandthebusiness developmentexpansion of services at partner accountsIn this billable client facing role,they willidentify,train,develop, coach, andmentortechnicalteamsdeveloping high performing project engineers and consultants.  TheSr.Manager,Operationsis responsible forclientrelationship management and acts as client liaison during delivery ofProject Farmaservice engagements.They are strategically focused and responsible for client satisfactionthroughproject deliverywhilemaintainingand growingclient relationships

TheSr.Manager,Operations willbe able to identifyadditionalopportunities to providenew andaddedservices for themutualbenefit oftheclient andthe organization.They will alsokeep abreast of market and technology trendsthroughindustrygroups. Essentialfunctionsoftheposition: 

Site Strategy:

  • Developandownthe site strategy to position the firm as a leader in CQV services.

  • Create a strategic roadmap to drive site growth and align with firmobjectives.

  • Proactivelyidentifyclient needs to foster site expansion.

  • Build andmaintainstrong relationships with key stakeholders (e.g., client executives, decision-makers) to secure long-term partnerships.

Business Growth & Development

  • Drive site-level business expansion and development with a strategic focusto expand services and opportunities.

  • Work with Project Leads tomaintaindashboards and pursue expansion opportunities.

  • Own project extensions, proposal generation, and provides critical input into site RFPs.

  • Activelyparticipatein industry events to build a local network and collaborate with the Market Director to expand client portfolios and secure high-value contracts.

  • Monitor and achieve operational KPIs and targets.

  • Identifyand plan opportunities to connect Project Farma’s Patient Focus mindset to our Partners.

  • Review and populatesite dashboardsproviding direction resulting in project healthand expansion opportunities

  • Lead, oversee, and execute client project initiatives allowing for the identification of new and added services for the mutual benefit of the client and organization.

  • Support, review,and analyze Business Development, ProjectDeliveryand Team Member activities.  

  • Support in the development, implementation, and executionofstrategic plans to meet theProject Farmabusiness development and growth targets.  

  • Collaborate acrossProject Farmapractice teams to develop solutions for joint business opportunities that meet businessand clientobjectives.

  • Monitor and manage budgetsand planning needs to meet the necessary project requirements

  • Support the maintenance of new and existing client accounts, focusing on projectdeliveryand actively seeking account growth. 

  • Work withclient’s business/technical leadership tofacilitateworkflow development, project scope development and risk assessment, issue resolution and work forecasting and planning.

  • Provide direction and innovation in service and/or process improvement, costreductionand recommendations for business process optimization.

  • Remaincurrent with the latest trends in thebiomanufacturingindustry and implement strategies thatleveragechanges in the marketplace into new business opportunities.

  • Thorough understanding of our target industries including how each sector works together,interdependence, emerging trends, and key challenges. 

  • Maintain business development data within customer relationship management (CRM)system.

  • Support strategic creation ofcross site/cross accountbusiness development tools creating a force multiplier impact.

  • Attend and represent Project Farma at ISPE or other networking events.

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Oversee the career development and performance of the entire site team.

  • Coach,mentor, anddevelopteamleads topreparethem for leadership roles.

  • Develop andmaintainsuccession plans for team or project leads.

  • Partner with Market Directors to share best practices across sites.

  • Lead a high-performing team, fostering accountability, excellence, and collaboration, while setting performance goals and enhancing retention.

  • Manageteams atvariousclientsites/locations to ensure consistency oftechnicalservices, compliantwith clientand Project Farma’sprocesses and standards and responsiveness to both client and employee requirements.

  • Collaborativelyidentifyand implement employee performance and development plans to meet individual developmentand organizational growthgoals.

  • Direct and manage teams executing projects within theProject Farmapractice areaswith overall responsibility for technical solutions, cost, quality, and client satisfaction.

  • Strategically assign team members toaccountsfor mutual benefit andidentifyTeam Membersuccession planning tomaximizethe readiness of future leaders.

  • Lead initiatives and projects by ensuring Team Members understand team and individual goals and responsibilities, managing priorities and ensuringtimelyand high-quality completion of work. 

  • Subject MatterExpert whoprovides technical direction, training, careerdevelopmentand performance assessmentsto ensurehighquality delivery.

  • IdentifyProfessional Development opportunities for Team Members to develop their skills.

  • Build andmaintainhigh performing teams ensuring successful account management and growth. 

  • Strategicallyidentifytalent needs and follow through with support of therecruitment and talentacquisition process.

  • Mentor, train, and coach team members in client engagement, relationship management, and leadership. 

Resource Management

  • Drive resourcing decisions for the site and collaborate with theMarket Directorsto ensureoptimalstaffing.

  • Consult with the Market Director to forecast future resource needs andmaintaina forward-looking resource plan.

  • Proactively manage resourceutilizationand team mix to ensure high-quality project delivery within budget.

  • Supportproject direction and strategy based on client vision and expected outcomes throughout the entire project delivery life cycle without oversight. 

  • Support and identifyresource planning, as well as define project objectives and requirements necessary to structure a project or activity.

  • Analyze,identifytrends, and ensure performance ofPO management tools;managingburn rates; need for new proposals and proactively communicate PO performanceProactivelyidentifyand ensure success through earned value analysis for clients and maximizing performance for Project Farma.

  • Drive efficiency through team memberutilizationand support cross-account / cross-region allocations.

Technical Delivery

  • Oversee technical delivery for site or market projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes.

  • Ensureappropriate staffingto meet project requirements and client expectations.

  • Builds dependence as a technical SME to the client and serves as an escalation point for technical issues.

  • Ensure delivery of high-quality GMP Engineering services that meet client specifications and regulatory standards.

  • Own anddelegatesproject execution, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.

  • Continually develop technical aptitude ofProject Farma’score services within the life science space including but not limited to: Capital Project Management, including Project Controls and Scheduling,Facility Builds,Tech Transfers,Validation Life Cycle, including Commissioning and Qualification, Process Validation,Computer System Validation,Quality, Regulatory, and Compliance,GxPAutomated Systems,Quality Control, including Clinical and Commercial.

  • Maybe requested toassistwith Project Controls and Scheduling toinclude,Budget estimates,Detailed project schedules and milestones,Feasibility estimates, risks, forecasts and scenario analysis, andProject cost reports and trend analysis

Operational Performance & Billability

  • Maintain 100% individual billability while ensuring the site or market team achieves forecast hours and targets.

  • Ensureteam performance aligns tobillable hoursin support ofoperational goals.

Education and ExperienceRequired:

  • Bachelor’s Degree(and/or Masters)in Life Science, Engineering, or related discipline (OR a combination of equivalent experience in CQV engineering, cGMP facility start-up, projectmanagementand/or comparable military experience).

  • 10yearsminimum;advanced therapy, life science, pharmaceutical, or biotech experience.

  • 8yearsminimum;managing high-performing teams. 

  • 8yearsminimum;business development, lead generation, or sales experience.

Other Required:

  • Travel as neededtofulfill Business Development and Team Member initiatives. 

  • Experienceoperatingas a trusted strategic advisor to organization decision-makers on short and long-termorganizational initiatives. 

  • Experience translating client visions to set the direction, frame the project, provide clarity to direct reports and client, and deliver results.

The annual compensation range for this full-time position is $(110,000 - $160,000). The final base pay offered to the successful candidate will be determined by factors including internal equity, work location, as well as individual qualifications, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
