Vanadis Diagnostics (part of PerkinElmer) develops NIPT screening based on cfDNA detection. The Vanadis system is built by a cross-functional team of scientists and engineers with competencies in genomics, engineering, optics, informatics and software development and uses advanced DNA and microfabrication technology to extract clinically relevant information from blood samples.
In an effort to broaden the range of applications we are now seeking a talented scientist to join one of our assay development projects. The initiative will build on the existing capabilities of the technology with the aim of developing novel assays for cancer applications. This role offers the opportunity to use your problem-solving skills to contribute to research projects from an early stage.
Within the projects you will play a key role in shaping and executing on the development plan and you will therefore need to have extensive knowledge of genomics assays in general with particular focus on detection of methylation markers. In addition, proven ability to develop novel methods to detect genomic features will be considered an advantage.
Development of new assays for detection of DNA methylation and other biomarkers.
Collaboration with commercial/clinical team to define technical specifications and content for in vitro diagnostic products
PhD or Master’s degree in molecular biology, biotechnology or similar fields.
Extensive knowledge and practical experience from either DNA methylation technologies or cancer diagnostic applications.
Minimum of 3 years of work experience in diagnostic product development is considered an advantage.
Excellent lab skills and experience with methods and data output from common DNA techniques such as qPCR and next-generation sequencing.
Excellent ability to characterize and navigate problem space to find candidate solutions
Ability to effectively share and learn knowledge/skills from fellow R&D team members.
