PerkinElmer is looking for Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (R&D)

Location: Stockholm/ Hägersten

  • Contribute and participate in the design of new products

  • Lead or create CAD models, drawings, prototypes, verification testing, and technical documentation

  • Lead technical efforts for continuous improvement, sustaining, and manufacturing transfer activities related to new, recent, and well-established products

  • Resolve component obsolescence issues

  • Collaborate and lead cross-functional teams including R&D, product management, quality, field service, sourcing, and manufacturing

  • Possess a thorough understanding of the product line’s technology, application, user experience, manufacturability, and serviceability

  • Develop and effectively communicate detailed plans, requirements, designs, and verification activities to implement long-term mechanical and/or electrical solutions using proven design methodology

  • Conduct risk assessments with technical experts and other stakeholders

  • Use proven problem-solving approaches to investigate root cause

  • Lead or support verification & validation, FMEA and safety analysis

Basic Qualifications:

  • BSc Degree in mechatronics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or physics

  • 5+ Years of professional/ commercial experience

  • 5+ Years of CAD Software experience

  • 5+ Years of experience with mechanical and electrical components

  • Project leading skills and experience of leading several small project simultaneously.

  • Responsible for the PDM-system, CAD-systems and drawings templates at the site.

  • Involved on Engineering Change Order process

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SolidWorks CAD

  • Experience with machining, forming, molding, cable assemblies and PCB fabrication.

  • Experience with regulatory compliance (EMC, safety, etc.)

  • Experience with scientific instrumentation

  • Manufacturing or design transfer experience

  • Engineering experience to design tests, tools and manufacturing support

  • Experience with operations and service issue analysis

  • High administrate skills

Travel Requirements:

  • Occasional travel required
