Responsibilities
Location Stevenage, GB Job ID JR-030970We are looking for a highly motivated candidate to provide technical stewarding services to all scientific departments at the Stevenage R&D site. These include, but are not limited to, solvent, chemical and consumable deliveries as well as distribution of dry ice, gases and liquid nitrogen.
Key Responsibilities.
Management & distribution of liquid nitrogen including filling of dewars and connection of liquid nitrogen vessels. Placing orders with suppliers as required. Liaison with third party suppliers.
Management of laboratory and site gases (including cylinders). Placing orders as required.
Ability to fit and inspect piped gases and valves and connect to cylinders etc.
Delivering dry ice to laboratories as required.
To ensure regular checks of the equipment and machines used during the working day.
To work closely with Line Manager when needed.
To ensure that all records are maintained in accordance with compliance guidelines and to provide data for monthly reports on performance and service delivery.
Ensure that all necessary databases and records are completed accurately to comply with regulatory and business requirements.
Delivery of consumable items to laboratories to include chemicals from the on-site Chemical Store & Stock Boss items.
Drive and operate forklift trucks .
Work to GxP regulations where applicable.
To maintain a clean and tidy area at all times.
Carry out all requests and tasks in a helpful and professional manner, build relationships with key staff and consistently demonstrate a good customer service interface.
Complete any Helpdesk requests within the set time frames.
Comply with all company & client policies, procedures, site rules and regulations including Health & working practices.
Represent and promote the Company wherever possible.
Provide support and cover for all departmental operations as required.

Liquid nitrogen vessels filled safely

Excellent feedback received from the client, both verbal and written e.g. in meetings, comment cards and feedback via email.
To keep all documentation up to date and correct
Essential
Good basic education
Strong verbal communication skills
Experience within the pharmaceutical/facilities industry
Knowledge of Health and Safety
Knowledge of chemicals and safe handling
Aptitude for technical and practical matters
Experience of working in an environment where compliance to standards is key
Self-motivated and able to work under pressure to balance conflicting deadlines
Service orientated attitude combined with innovative thinking
Strong team player with experience in a high-quality customer service operation
Reasonable level of physical fitness such that you are able to carry out key accountabilities
Able to complete relevant paperwork according to principles of Good Documentation Practice
Willingness to work outside, even during inclement weather
Desirable
Basic IT skills: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook
A valid fork lift license (training provided)
Previous laboratory experience
Knowledge of COSHH
Experience of GxP or working in a similar regulated environment
