Position Overview: PerkinElmer is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as a Regional Sr Manager, Sourcing. In this role, you will play a critical part in shaping our global sourcing strategy, ensuring the efficient procurement of goods and services to support our mission and business objectives. The ideal candidate will bring strategic thinking, strong negotiation skills, and a proven track record in developing and managing supplier relationships.


Reporting:  This individual will report into the Procurement Director and contribute to transforming global supply base ecosystem to support our new manufacturing foot print that will optimize cost, improve supply chain efficiency, resilience and enhance overall competitiveness.  This individual will play a key role in supporting & developing the sourcing team from at both Singapore and Malaysia factories. This role requires Sourcing experience with a proven track record of successful talent development and delivering broad international sourcing deliverables on time, within scope, and on budget. The role shall collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Sourcing, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance) and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership Requirements: Lead and mentor a team of international sourcing professionals, setting clear objectives, priorities, and performance standards. Foster a high-performance culture built on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Cross Culture Experience: Drive organizational value creation by cultivating a cross-cultural supply base ecosystem that strengthens collaboration, fosters resilience, and promotes a global mindset.

  • Cost Management: Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives and sourcing strategies that deliver measurable financial impact while maintaining quality and supply continuity. Lead supplier negotiations to achieve optimal pricing, payment terms, and total cost of ownership. Conduct regular spending analysis to identify opportunities for cost reduction, process efficiency, and supplier consolidation.

  • Sourcing Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies aligned with PerkinElmer's business objectives, ensuring cost-effectiveness and supplier performance.

  • Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to drive collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  • Negotiation and Contract Management: Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and agreements. Manage contracts effectively to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.

  • Market Research and Analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and technological advancements. Conduct regular analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, including but not limited to R&D, Operations, and Finance, to understand their sourcing needs and align strategies accordingly.

  • Supplier Diversity and Sustainability: Drive initiatives to enhance supplier diversity and sustainability, aligning with PerkinElmer's commitment to corporate responsibility.

  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain, ensuring continuity of supply and minimizing disruptions.

  • Performance Metrics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and monitor the effectiveness of sourcing strategies. Provide regular reports and analysis to senior management.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field. Advanced degree (MBA) is a plus.

  • Minimum 10 years of procurement/sourcing experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment. Experience in life sciences or analytical industry is a plus.

  • Strong knowledge of sourcing, supplier management, and procurement best practices within manufacturing industries.

  • Familiarity with global procurement regulations, trade compliance, and import/export requirements.

  • Experience in cost analysis, contract negotiations, and managing supplier performance.

  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems - SAP, and strong MS Excel/data analysis skills.

  • Fluency in English; Bahasa Malaysia and/or English for supplier communication.
