The NIPT Scientist plays a key role in the Diagnostics Segment of PerkinElmer (PKI), is responsible for technical aspects of NIPT application development for Korea & Japan, and is responsible for executing the portfolio strategy, provide differentiated solutions to customers through competitive analysis and sound knowledge of market opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

Grow sales and volume through leveraging the Diagnostics segment portfolio of products, services through collaboration with internal Diagnostics sales and services teams, and with external partnerships.

Collaborate with other PerkinElmer functional teams (operations, finance, R&D, etc.): is effective in a matrixed organization within the commercial teams at regional and global levels.

Required Experiences and Competencies:

Demonstrated track record of managing go-to-market plans, drive for results within timeline.

Experience in a prenatal clinical setting: experienced with workflows on creating or developing nucleic acid based diagnostic tests, including planning, testing, protocol development, and validation.

Experience with R&D phases related to commercialization of new applications, lab workflows and reagents based on sequencing technologies.

Effectively influence, build, manage and retain customer and partner relationships at senior levels.

Expertise in molecular diagnostics, next generation sequencing (NGS) technologies or genetics/genomics.

Understand regulatory regulations and developments for medical devices in the diagnostic industry.

Good talent acquisition and people management skills; to attract, develop and manage team of scientific sales talents.

Qualifications:

PhD or M.S. in Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Chemistry, or related fields.

5-10 years’ significant experience in academic and/or industry experience in in-vitro diagnostics products, non-invasive prenatal testing technologies required.

Experience in clinical/diagnostic laboratory on application development for automated systems is an advantage.
