PerkinElmer is looking for an experienced Segment Marketing Manager who will not only develop the strategic marketing programs and execution, but also drive content development and commercial messaging for the Life Sciences Segment. 

The Segment Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and telling the story of PerkinElmer’s Life Sciences capabilities across the entire PerkinElmer and new partner portfolios of instruments, reagents, software and services. 

The successful candidate will have a track record of impact in global marketing roles, strategic campaign development and execution, content strategy development, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovation-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and leverage an in-depth understanding of customer needs
  • Lead and participate in all strategic and tactical marketing initiatives
  • Develop and implement a cohesive yearly marketing plan to increase solution areas awareness
  • Manage and track campaign marketing budget
  • Monitor all marketing campaigns and improve them as necessary
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations on marketing metrics for the senior management team
  • Conduct market analysis to identify challenges and opportunities for growth
  • Track competitors’ marketing and brand positioning activities
  • Work within a collaborative matrix environment with regional field marketing, marketing managers across other PerkinElmer Segments and Product Marketing to align Solutions Marketing strategies, as well as other Marketing functions within PerkinElmer. 
  • Maintain brand standards and ensure compliance across all marketing and communications channels
  • Take responsibility for annual marketing plan, strategy, and team development

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or the sciences. 
  • Minimum of 10-12 years of marketing experience, preferably within a public company comparable to PerkinElmer
  • Significant experience with, and knowledge of, the pharmaceutical, biopharma, biotech and CRO industries
  • Demonstrable experience designing, leading, and implementing successful strategic marketing and demand generation campaigns
  • Significant knowledge of traditional and digital marketing, including SEO, web analytics, social media, paid advertising, and Google Adwords
  • Experience supporting CRM software and digital marketing tools and techniques to fill the sales funnel
  • Experience developing content strategy based on the marketing funnel (content nurture strategy, etc.)
  • Excellent leadership, communications, and presentation skills
  • Experience maintaining brand standards in all communications
  • Strong analytical and project management skills
  • Highly strategic mindset, with the ability to execute efficiently and lead by example
  • Understanding of market research
  • Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company’s success
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Strong team player
  • Good time-management skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills

 Travel Requirement:

  • Approximately 20% travel to conferences, sales meetings and customer sites
