Purpose

PerkinElmer is seeking a dynamic Director of Web Development to own digital strategy and execution for the company’s online sales channels, including the corporate website, customer portal, digital product catalog, and integrated ordering systems. This leader will be responsible for delivering a frictionless digital buying experience, driving revenue growth, and expanding adoption of self-service ordering among existing and new customers. The ideal candidate combines strong coordination, leadership, analytical and technical skills with a strategic commercial mindset and hands-on execution.

Responsibilities

Strategy & Leadership

  • Own the end-to-end website vision, roadmap, and execution to support business goals, product launches, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Develop KPIs and performance dashboards for traffic, engagement, conversion rates, lead generation, and eCommerce growth.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration among marketing, product, content, operations, and IT stakeholders.
  • Champion the voice of the customer and digital UX best practices throughout the organization.

Website Operations & Optimization

  • Manage structure, content architecture, navigation, and overall website user experience.
  • Oversee website development projects, hosting, security, uptime, functionality, and compliance.
  • Implement continuous improvement using A/B testing and UX enhancements.
  • Ensure technical integration with CRM, marketing automation platforms, ERP/eCommerce systems, and analytics tools.

Content Alignment & Cross-Team Coordination

  • Coordinate editorial planning and content delivery across internal and external contributors.
  • Align with subject matter experts, technical writers, creative teams, and product management to ensure content accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Ensure brand consistency, tone, and messaging across web pages, landing pages, blogs, product pages, and resource libraries.
  • Act as a player-coach, leading a small team of dedicated employees to support objectives.
  • Manage agency or freelance resources where applicable.

eCommerce & Digital Revenue Support & Harmonization

  • Partner with the e-commerce leader to harmonize the company’s e-commerce site in tandem with the company’s web content
  • Ensure that data flow and content between the sites is frictionless from a customer UX standpoint

Analytics & Performance

  • Track, evaluate, and report digital performance metrics; translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Monitor competitor and industry digital trends to maintain a leading-edge experience.
  • Maintain data integrity and governance across digital platforms.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Strategy, Business, Communications, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience leading web strategy, digital marketing, or eCommerce operations—industrial, B2B, technical, or manufacturing sector preferred.
  • Proven experience managing complex websites and digital ecosystems.
  • Knowledge of SEO/SEM, marketing automation platforms and other key platforms (Drupal, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Sharepoint), and analytics tools
  • Experience overseeing web development teams or agencies.
  • Strong project management, leadership, and communication skills.  Ability to translate/distill complex technical language and requirements to laypersons to ensure alignment and retain support for activities
  • Ability to translate technical and industrial content into a clear customer-focused digital experience
