Job Summary

At BioLegend we are dedicated to commercializing high quality reagents to support the research community for legendary discoveries. The Associate will support QC projects testing RUO and Diagnostic products. Specifically, the associate will be involved in the stability testing program of flow cytometry, IHC, ELISA, multiplex immunoassays, and western blotting products. The candidate will report directly to the QC scientist and will perform all aspects of assays following SOPs, GMP, and ISO requirements. Additional responsibilities include experimental design, keeping track of projects and testing time-points, and data analysis. We are looking for a motivated person who is an excellent communicator, loves to learn, and is detail oriented.

Essential Functions

  • Executing experiments focused on troubleshooting, stability, and other non-routine QC testing
  • Perform flow cytometry experiment (majority of work flow)
  • Perform WB, IHC and/or immunoassays
  • Troubleshooting of products and/or product lines
  • Perform data analysis and document results; may include statistical analysis
  • Reporting out large experiments in consumable slide decks
  • Keeping track of long term and short-term projects and testing time-points
  • Attend weekly meetings with QC scientist and present results to internal stakeholders
  • Maintain a safe and clean laboratory
  • Other projects or responsibilities as may be required.

Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science with >1+ year’s experience in a laboratory setting outside of classroom
  • Flow Cytometry 1+ year’s experience
  • Hands on experience in at least one of the assays with proven track record of working independently
  • Familiarity with basic lab equipment
  • Knowledge of lab safety protocols
  • Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Close attention to detail
  • Fast learner
  • Excellent documentation skills (including Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent math skills including proven experience with statistics
  • Excellent skills keeping track of deadlines and time-points of multiple ongoing projects

Preferred Qualifications – Education and Experience

  • 3+ years of working experience in a laboratory environment working independently
  • Hands on experience with > 4 color flow cytometry
  • Experience with  Access databases
  • Hands on experience with additional antibody applications (Western blot, IHC, ELISA)
