We are seeking an Application and Business Development Specialist (ABDS) to support Covaris’ global Omics customers by delivering application expertise, technical training, and workflow support across Covaris platforms. The ABDS partners with Global Business Development and regional distributors to support sales efforts, manage opportunity pipelines, and drive customer adoption, while providing hands-on training, troubleshooting, and application guidance across low-, medium-, and high-throughput systems. With a primary focus on Singapore, Malaysia, Australia/New Zealand, and Taiwan, this role serves as a locally based technical and business development resource, delivering value-based technical support to distributors and customers across these territories and supporting solution-based offerings. The ABDS will report to the General Distribution Manager and play a key role in enabling distributor effectiveness and regional coverage.
Essential Responsibilities:The employee may be required to perform all or a combination of the following essential responsibilities as determined by business necessity.
- Manage distributor relationships, including pipeline and business reviews, distributor onboarding or transitions, contract support, and product training
- Deliver hands-on wet lab and software training to customers and distributors
- Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting via on-site visits, phone, email, and web
- Evaluate customer samples and deliver application-focused technical guidance
- Develop regional pipelines and key opinion leaders (KOLs) in collaboration with distributors
- Execute customer training sessions and provide expert operational guidance
- Maintain accurate support and customer information in company databases
- Develop and implement training plans for internal and external audiences
- Contribute to marketing initiatives and support new product development efforts
- Assist with the creation and review of technical materials, including manuals and application notes
- Identify new business opportunities and build strong customer relationships
- Attend conferences, customer meetings, and industry events as required

Preferred Qualifications:
- Field applications or distributor-facing experience
- Familiarity with Illumina platforms
- Basic bioinformatics knowledge
Minimum Qualifications:
- MSc in a life science discipline; strong background in Genomics and/or Proteomics
- 3–5 years’ experience in technical sales or business development within genomics or proteomics
- 3–5 years’ hands-on experience with NGS, mass spectrometry, or related technologies
- Strong troubleshooting skills across software, instrumentation, and applications
- Excellent communication and scientific presentation skills
- Field applications or distributor-facing experience preferred
- Familiarity with Illumina platforms a plus
- Basic bioinformatics knowledge preferred but not required
