We are looking for a highly motivated Lab Support Coordinator: Bioreactor Prep to provide critical lab support as part of a dynamic PerkinElmer lab service team. The role’s purpose is to provide a coordinated service by performing standard activities in support of lab-based work involving bioreactors. They must be able to meet deadlines and generate accurate, reproducible work and reports. Must work well independently and as a team member, proactively bringing concerns to managerial staff.
Job Responsibilities:
• Pick up neutralized bioreactors from designated locations, rinse them, and prepare them for the glass wash
• Wash components and vessels per working instructions
• Assemble tubing sets for bottles and reactors
• Maintain required inventory levels of all tubing sets required for the bioreactor setup and transfer bottle setup
• Assemble the bioreactors (3L, 15L, 36L and fermentation) based on configurations and requirements as per the end user/upstream team requests
• Perform checks and upkeep requirements on DO probes, pH probes, and bioreactors as scheduled
• This role will work closely with other teams to seamlessly deliver lab support services.
• Coordinate the working lab environment daily and oversee all stock items in and near the labs including but not limited to glassware, lab coats, PPE, consumables.
• Support daily maintenance of Cell Culture instrumentation: Flex, phOX, Vicell
• Daily check of instrumentation and replace reagent cartridges as necessary
• Meet regularly with key stakeholders (lab staff, service providers, management) to identify, review and resolve issues in a timely manner and/or escalate as necessary.
• Regularly engage with the customer and PerkinElmer staff to ensure quality and compliance within the laboratory.
• Assist with glass wash as needed: retrieving, rinsing, loading, running, and returning glass.
• Collaborate with customer line safety reps to ensure a high level of safety is maintained in the lab.
• Provide updates and timely communication to lab users on service work requests.
• Complete relevant paperwork according to principles of Good Documentation Practice.
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) on various support needs across different buildings/floors/locations.
• Actively participate on committee(s) supporting LSC’s across PerkinElmer and the customer sites with a focus on providing guidance through presentation and document creation.
• Help facilitate meetings with the ability to communicate from an area of expertise of LSC functions.
• Demonstrates appropriate use of office equipment/software after training
• Maintain training and compliance in areas of health and safety, security, environmental and operational aspects of daily activities in the working environment

Basic Qualifications:
• Associates degree with 1+ years' experience in a customer facing role within a scientific environment OR
• High School Diploma with 2+ years’ experience in a customer facing role within a scientific environment
Preferred Qualifications:
• Professional Certification/Associate degree in relevant subject
• Strong understanding of GLP/GxP and/or experience working in a compliance driven environment.
• Sufficient knowledge to independently carry out duties of chemical and safe handling practices.
• Intermediate knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulatory requirements
Working Environment:
• Must be able to work in a laboratory, controlled environments requiring personal protective equipment (e.g., lab coat, safety glasses, etc.) in laboratory.
• Job pace may be fast and job completion demands may be high.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position more than 25% of the time
• The person needs to occasionally move between labs, corridors, adjoining rooms, and buildings onsite Frequently operate on instruments, objects, tools or controls, which will require regularly bending, squatting, stretching and reaching in order to perform in a service function.
• Occasionally move or lift up to 25 pounds (potential for occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds).
• Specific vision abilities required by this position include without limitation, the ability to observe details at close range distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus in order to perform the essential service functions of this position.
• Occasionally operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
• Employee may be required to handle hazardous waste according to local, state, and federal regulations. Duties may include identifying, handling, generating, accumulating, storing and labeling hazardous waste.
• Potential risk to lab-based hazards including but not limited to extreme temperature, biological materials, and hazardous chemicals.
• May be required to complete Medical Clearance, Respiratory Protection Training, and Fit Testing to wear a respirator as protection against hazards present in the laboratory environment.
