Location: EMEA, close to any PerkinElmer's office
Purpose of the role:
This position is responsible for ensuring PerkinElmer’s locations in EMEA have an effective trade compliance program that meets all local and applicable governmental rules and regulations. The position will be directly responsible for the European Distribution Center and Customer Care operations as it relates to import / export formalities and broker / freight forwarder management. This position will also be responsible to support the Sr. Manager with processes related to assisting ITC Advocates in fulfilling their job requirements and the integration of acquired companies.
Key responsibilities
This position’s direct reports will be dedicated to supporting the Customer Care and European Distribution Center Operations.
Primary trade compliance point of contact for Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders. Responsibilities include:
Lead meetings with brokers and forwarders to provide a forum to escalate issues, report business changes and discuss initiatives that may impact their ability to support us
Developing standard operating procedures
Escalation point for troubleshooting issues
Partnering with Logistics to support their projects and initiatives
Reporting and Key performance indicators
Transactional audits, assessments and corrective actions
Subject Matter Expert – Transportation Management System
Trade Compliance Infrastructure:
Responsible to meet internal KPI’s related to trade compliance activities and commitments.
Utilize ITC Dashboard to understand trends and changes that may influence processes and workload.
Participate on Trade Activity Maturity Assessments in EMEA.
Responsible to assist Sr. manager close gaps related to trade compliance formalities and processes.
Use project management disciplines when leading a significant process change.
Maintain Import and Export Management system using Corporate procedures as the foundation of their system.
Identify local regulations that require work instructions that need to be developed or integrated into the Corporate procedures.
Operational:
Ensure internal controls are in place to support import /export formalities and customs clearance processes.
Responsible to ensure products are properly classified as it relates to the EDC.
Clear understanding of the methods of customs valuation and applicability to our shipments.
Free Trade Agreement assessment, approvals and training.
Trade & Customs:
Responsible for Denied Party and Embargo Screening for the region.
Provide license determinations (product or destination related) and license applications according to local laws and regulations.
Antiboycott analysis and reporting
Be the escalation point for red flags.
Assist the Sr. Manager, EMEA with government audits, disclosures or corrective actions that may be needed based on the results of the audit.
Assist with the integration of trade compliance systems and activities for acquired companies.
Training program
Provide input for the Global Training Plan and Training Material.
Develop training material as required.
Other responsibilities:
Support End of Quarter activities to support revenue recognition
Represent EMEA topics during monthly and annual global trade compliance meetings
Ad-hoc projects or continuous improvement efforts

Ability to work effectively across different time zones
Willingness to travel regionally and occasionally to the US.
Education/Experience:
8+ experience in the same or similar role.
Bachelor’s Degree required.
SAP and SAP GTS experience is a plus.
Certification or education with the US Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and US Import Regulations.
