Summary:

The Data Analyst will leverage strong data science and business skills to collect, analyze, and summarize spend and productivity data for Global Sourcing department.  The Data Analyst will be responsible for providing both tactical and strategic solutions for the development and maintenance of spend, forecasting, and savings reporting tools. Project implementation will require data collection and harmonization, and assistance with analytics pipeline development. This individual, in partnership with the end users, leads efforts in establishing reliable data, optimizing reporting, and identifying drivers for key performance metrics.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Daily updating and processing of spend, productivity, and supplier databases, including troubleshooting and data cleansing
  • Extracting data from multiple sources and implementing data harmonization for utilization in reporting tools
  • Collecting requirements from business stakeholders to develop reporting tools
  • Transforming manual processes into fully automated cloud-based solutions
  • Developing tools in collaboration with Finance and IT that delivers detailed reporting, visualizations, and analytics across the Global Sourcing site footprint.
  • Reporting data analysis through clear communication with both experts and non-experts.
  • Maintaining Sharepoint website and spend databases
  • Supporting the analysis requests from business stakeholders (Sourcing, Operations, IT, Finance).
  • Analyzing existing reporting tools to provide recommendations for improvement, highlighting opportunities and driving awareness to the business.
  • Independently evaluate new applications, software and web tools.
  • Providing support for the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key internal customer stakeholders.
  • Assisting process owners in future reporting needs and continuous improvement
  • Sharing experience and knowledge to assist in the development of recommendations and solutions that are in-line with industry best practices.
  • Performing end-to-end validation on all finalized tools to ensure quality and data integrity.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Information Systems.
  • Significant experience in Business Analytics or Data Science.
  • Experience with all parts of the data analytics pipeline, including problem formulation, data collection, wrangling, cleaning, exploratory analysis, modeling and visualization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a Life Science, Diagnostics, or Pharma field
  • Experience with Data Visualization Tools, preferably Spotfire, PowerBI or similar
  • High level of Microsoft Office platform experience.
  • Strong English skills, verbal and written.
  • Experience in data management and proficiency with large data sets.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel, Sharepoint
  • Proficient in use of SAP or similar ERP systems
  • Strong communication skills able to support independent viewpoints to senior leadership
  • Proven operational ability to visualize, identify steps and implement processes
  • Exhibits strong bias for action and a results orientation, tackling tough problems within firm and challenging deadlines, championing positive change
  • Mental flexibility, including ability to dive deep into details of workflow processes ensuring quality while understanding the big picture objectives of a given project
  • Ability to understand complex workflows with limited direct experience in the process
  • Strong analytical ability, including the ability to anticipate the impact of process changes
  • Spotfire, SAP Business Intelligence, Power BI, reporting experience.
