Purpose

As a Consumables Sales Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of direct reports, overseeing their performance, and driving sales initiatives. Your role will be pivotal in meeting and exceeding sales targets while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction within this critical high-growth segment of the PerkinElmer portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed your team targets, including total booked order value and associated margin
  • Monitor individual and team performance, implementing strategies to exceed goals
  • Ensure team is generating sales pipeline by meeting outbound sales activity targets including daily phone calls, customer conversations, quote deliveries, and order conversions
  • Set team direction by developing and executing on data-driven action plans to improve sales performance
  • Collaborate with manager peers in other regions to share and implement best practices
  • Forecast sales results, track leading KPIs, and report on results to PerkinElmer leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of inside sales representatives
  • Assess and optimize the territories of sales reps within your team
  • Manage end-to-end performance of team members to their targets, facilitating performance improvement plans and recruiting/onboarding new talent as needed
  • Coach sales reps on effective selling techniques and provide practical guidance in live coaching and feedback sessions

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of commercial sales experience
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience, ideally having managed a metric driven inside sales team in the past
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven track record of success achieving sales targets

Preferred Characteristics

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, or similar scientific field
  • Relevant experience in the analytical instruments & consumables industry
  • Relevant experience in laboratory or field service operations
