If you are seeking a meaningful, impactful, and stimulating career, look no further! PerkinElmer is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Operations Engineer, to help our team deploy their AI solutions. The team works on solving novel problems in the Life Science space.

Our AI team in PerkinElmer is part of the Advanced Research Group. We are a small global team that works with various partners across PerkinElmer applying Machine Learning techniques to create unique solutions. We work closely alongside the User Experience and Software Development teams to ensure we are working on true differentiators and that there is a clear path to release.

When we are in the office, we are based in the Tannery building in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. This position may also be performed 100% Remote, in EST/CST.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Someone who builds, deploys, implements and/or modifies machine AI applications, including digital agents (e.g., chatbots), pattern recognition applications, (e.g., image, text, speech recognition) and automation scripts and utilities

  • Typically one who uses a combination of dataflow programming or pre-trained algorithms from an existing AI framework (e.g., TensorFlow, Caffe, MXNet, Cognitive Toolkit, Torch) but may also develop own scripts and algorithms in C++, Go, Java, Python, or equivalent languages

Basic Qualifications:

· Five years minimum of related experience with Data Science and MLOps

· Experience porting code from data scientists to production-ready models

· Strong Experience with end-to-end deployment using AWS Sagemaker

· Know how to design and implement REST APIs

· Must be able to communicate effectively with other team members

Preferred Qualifications:

· Familiarity with model registry and tracking using MLFlow or similar

· Collaborative teamwork using git and git projects through weekly sprints

· Ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset with flexibility with exploring and adopting new technologies

· Ability to Design, and implement solutions in the cloud or in hybrid architecture

· Ability to manage and maintain remote Linux-based compute workstations
