PerkinElmer is seeking an Imaging Scientist who will be responsible for creating and maintaining the core algorithms technology for the software platforms that drive PerkinElmer’s in vivo imaging business.

Responsibilities:

  • Create innovative solutions to image segmentation and analysis problems for PerkinElmer’s in vivo software platforms.

  • Bring novel image processing algorithms from the early design and prototyping stage through the commercial implementation stage.

  • Work collaboratively with engineers and scientists that have expertise in imaging systems and applications to validate algorithms and optimize workflows.

  • Implement and optimize tomographic reconstruction algorithms for imaging applications.

Basic Qualifications:

  • MS or Ph.D. in a Scientific field, Engineering discipline, or applied mathematics

  • Experience in imaging processing techniques, image reconstruction, and inverse problems.

  • Expertise writing and understanding code in Matlab.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with medical imaging modalities and their applications in the life sciences, particularly optical, X-ray, and ultrasound-based modalities.

  • Background in physics and/or diffusion theory and in perturbation techniques.

  • Familiarity with theOpenInventortoolkit.

  • Experience with Matlab Coder.

  • Software development expertise inCUDA, Python, C/C++, C# or similar modern languages, and an ability to quickly learn new programming languages as required.

  • Experience using ImageJ highly desired.

  • Aptitude to learn new systems and retain technical information.

  • Ability to operate independently and as part of a team.

  • Commitment to continuous improvement principles.
