Position Summary

Reporting to the Global Head of Tax & Treasury, the International Senior Tax Manager will be responsible to oversee and direct the company’s tax landscape and deliver value as a strategic partner in enhancing PerkinElmer AES’s tax decisions. Additionally, the International Senior Tax Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing global tax planning, reporting, and compliance for the company, ASC 740 reporting, indirect taxes, US taxation of non-US operations, local income tax considerations, tax controversy, and transfer pricing approaches.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Serve as a tax advisor responsible for supporting business and key stakeholders on all tax aspects of the business

  • In coordination with the Global Head of Tax and Treasury, Implement overall efficient cash tax planning and effective tax rate management globally

  • Manage the consolidation of the global income tax provision and financial statement disclosures on a quarterly and annual basis as well as related tax entries, disclosures, and projections

  • With assistance, design, develop, and implement internal controls over income tax accounting and reporting indirect taxes, and materiality advice

  • Negotiating tax incentives for site selection decisions both domestic and foreign, negotiations with U.S. Internal Revenue Service, state and local tax authorities, as well as foreign tax authorities where the organization does business

  • Implement the policy and decision making related to the tax aspects of the global legal entity structure including US international tax matters at the direction of the Global Head of Tax & Treasury

  • Review and document the global transfer pricing policy and implementation including advance pricing agreements, as applicable

  • Facilitate and execute tax planning for mergers & acquisitions, and other strategic transactions

  • In conjunction with the Global Head of Tax & Treasury, oversee the overall tax department operations, including tax technology solutions and decisions, internal tax policies and documentation retention requirements

  • Manage the development and delivery of material tax implications to strategic transactions, acquisitions, divestitures, etc.to senior leadership and key stakeholders

  • Assist in the oversight of global tax compliance in concert with external service providers,

  • Assist Indirect Tax Manager in advising business units on policies, procedures, and processes for transactional tax consequences (VAT, S&U, GST, etc.) of global operations including data and compliance requirements

  • Monitor, evaluate, and plan for global tax policy and legislation/regulations and affecting the company and advise senior tax management accordingly

  • Assist in the representation externally to tax authorities globally and review audits of foreign and domestic tax filings

  • In conjunction with Tax Leadership, Interface with outside tax advisors (accounting and tax counsel) and other professional associates related to tax matters

  • Review supporting staff work product and business work product including tax filing obligations, payment calculations, and supporting workpapers

  • Manage, direct, and develop the Tax Department staff. Provide coaching and mentoring assistance to ensure the team is supported by a sound and efficient organizational and team structure.

  • Support business unit[s] in day-to-day transaction taxes, maintenance of ERP configurations with tax dependencies, and general tax related operation matters, as required

Supervisory Responsibilities

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company policies, the Code of Ethical Business Conduct, and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; recommending the reward and discipline related to employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting is required

  • CPA or Masters in Tax or LLM is required

  • Minimum of 7 years tax related tax experience or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in Tax.

  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) including tax accounting under ASC 740

  • Experience with Leading and Managing teams.

  • Must be able to travel 20% of the time (domestically and internationally) and hold a valid US passport.

  • Experience of working in a fast-paced, dynamic multi-national company environment

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with senior tax management, internal business units and external advisors

  • Proven experience in building a high-performance team, developing leaders, driving necessary organizational change and culture

  • Highly proficient in all US and non-US tax concepts, structures, tax authority interface and practical tax knowledge

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years with big 4 with heavy emphasis on international tax (preferred or ideal)
  • 3+ years in international tax within a large multinational company (preferred or ideal)

Travel

Employee must be able to travel 20% of the time (domestically and internationally) and hold a valid US passport.
