Purpose

The Warehouse Assistant plays a critical role in supporting the manufacturing and distribution processes. This position ensures efficient operations by handling inventory, processing orders, maintaining accurate stock records, and ensuring timely dispatch of goods. The role is essential in ensuring a smooth flow of materials and products within the warehouse, contributing to the overall production and delivery timeline.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform daily operations such as receiving, handling, issuing, picking, packing, and shipping of materials and finished goods.
  • Ensure all work orders are processed and materials issued to production lines within defined deadlines.
  • Ensure accurate storage of materials, especially controlled items (e.g., items with shelf life or requiring special storage conditions).
  • Regularly update inventory records and bin cards to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Conduct weekly cycle counts and participate in the Annual Physical Stock Count to achieve stock accuracy.
  • Coordinate with the order fulfillment team and logistics providers for timely dispatch and delivery of customer orders.
  • Cross-check material part numbers and quantities with Goods Receipt (GR) slips to ensure accuracy in inventory data.
  • Maintain the safety and security of the store and shipping area, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Uphold good housekeeping practices and adherence to 5S standards (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient working environment.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum SPM/GCE “O” level or equivalent qualifications.
  • At least 2-3 years of hands-on experience in warehouse/store operations within a manufacturing or related industry.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems such as SAP or equivalent ERP systems is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) for basic reporting and record keeping.
  • Physically fit to handle manual warehouse tasks, including operating pallet jacks and stackers.
  • Willingness to work overtime when required, based on production needs.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors/logistics partners.
