This role is responsible for administering and providing operational support for a diverse and complex IT landscape that includes SAP ERP, SAP GTS, SAP TM, and other critical components. The focus is to ensure smooth execution of logistics and supply chain processes within our organization.
Responsibilities
System Administration and Monitoring
- Oversee the day-to-day administration of SAP ERP, SAP GTS, SAP Process Weaver and SAP WM.
- Maintenance of storage locations. rack/bin labels, shipping lanes, SKU Master data etc.
- Perform regular health checks, monitoring system performance, and ensuring high availability and reliability of all components.
- Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and system issues to ensure seamless operations.
System Upgrades and Patch Management
- Plan, coordinate, and execute system upgrades, enhancements, and patch applications across all supported platforms.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and minimize downtime during upgrades by leveraging effective change management practices.
- Document upgrade procedures and changes to maintain an up-to-date knowledge base.
Backup, Recovery, and Security
- Implement and maintain robust backup and recovery processes for all databases and systems in the landscape.
- Monitor system security, manage user access control, and ensure adherence to data protection regulations.
- Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
Incident Management and Troubleshooting
- Respond promptly to incidents and service requests related to system performance or failures.
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement permanent resolutions to prevent future occurrences.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to address complex technical challenges.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Train team members or end-users on best practices and new functionalities introduced in the landscape.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in system administration or IT operations with a focus on SAP systems and databases.
- Strong knowledge of SAP ERP, SAP BW, SAP Fiori, HANA Database, and ASE Database architecture and administration.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting complex technical issues across multiple platforms.
- Familiarity with backup/recovery tools, monitoring solutions, and security best practices.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Certifications in SAP or database administration (e.g., SAP Certified Technology Associate) are a plus.
