Location(s) Denver, Colorado, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Houston, Texas, Las Vegas, Nevada, Phoenix, Arizona Status Regular Job ID JR-019314PerkinElmer is seeking an experienced LC/LCMS Field Applications Scientist. The successful candidate will be responsible for sales support, such as delivering seminars and demonstrating HPLC, UHPLC and LCMS, instruments during the sales process. This position would also include ensuring customer success as well as customer on-site training and support.

Our Team
The Applied market Team represents PerkinElmer’s entire portfolio of solutions for Analytical testing. This includes analytical instrumentation such as chromatography, inorganic, and spectroscopy, as well as consumables and services. We are asking that the individual be highly motivated, has a team mentality for achievement, and has a willingness to learn new methods and technologies in a rapidly changing customer space. Ideally the candidate will have at least Five years of experience with Liquid Chromatography applications.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop a strong, working technical knowledge of the portfolio of Liquid Chromatography products.
- Execute technical product demonstrations/presentations to individual prospects and seminar audiences in support of pre-sales activity including workshops and RFI/RFP support for LC and LCMS products
- Provide subject matter expertise in the areas of LC, LCMS analysis to support customers in understanding how to maximize their use of our software applications
- Collaborate with all Field Team members to develop and deploy world-class systems and tools and provide front-line support to sales as the Field application Scientist
- Provide and deliver product training to field (marketing & sales) as new features/functionality are available for designated product and domain specialty
- Coordinate with Product Management to identify, communicate, and incorporate new product enhancements and also with the Services team to insure we deliver competitive solutions that are differentiated through value as perceived by our customers
- Coordinate with Marketing Communications organization to develop and participate in marketing campaign design and execution as needed
- Present a professional image at all times to customers, clients and other vendors.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in life sciences or other relevant field of study
- 5+ years in the Liquid Chromatography and Mass Spectroscopy field.
- 5+ years' experience and working knowledge of UHPLC, HPLC, and LCMS including sample preparation requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD or MS in a scientific discipline
- Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills. Must be able to express information in a succinct and organized manner that is appropriate for the intended audience.
- Self-motivated and energetic with a results-focused approach to achieving daily goals/activities.
- Aptitude to learn new systems and retain technical information.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Current or previous scientific expertise and experience with a customer focus and excellent communication skills
- Willingness for as much as 50% overnight travel
