Summary:

Cisbio Bioassays, member of the PerkinElmer group, is looking for an experienced Team Leader in Cell-based Assay Services (M/F), as part of a permanent contract. This position is located in Codolet (France - possibility of relocation assistance).

Preferably with Industry experience, with a broad knowledge of cell-based screening assays and an excellent level of English, you will establish and manage a team that plans and performs immunological screening assays in conjunction with counterparts in Cambridge, UK, to deliver contract research services for external clients. As a true experienced leader in management, you position yourself as a Mentor for the members of your teams.

During the initial phases to establish the activity, it is expected that approximately 25% of your time will be spent performing lab work.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily activities (tasks and resources) of your team
  • Track the quantitative and qualitative achievements of your team
  • Ensure effective training and routine monitoring of scientists
  • Understand and articulate the technical skills of team members, set goals, monitor their progress and effectively manage team and individual performance.
  • Interact effectively between teams / departments to facilitate the work of the team
  • Ensure the profitable delivery of all projects, in accordance with project objectives, specifications and timelines
  • Identify and solve problems associated with your own work or that of your team.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or equivalent required - Initial training in biology / biochemistry / biotechnology ; expertise in immunology
  • Relevant laboratory work experience in Industry (highly valued) such as :
    • Isolation and handling of primary human immune cells, performing immunological assays (e.g. Mixed Lymphocyte Reaction, iTreg or MDSC assays) and flow cytometry assays.
    • Experience of high-throughput assays and handling large datasets including data QC
    • Experience of assay set up, troubleshooting and process optimisation
    • Knowledge of quality standards and use of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
    • A customer focused mindset would be appreciated
  • Data analysis, graphical représentations and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of robotic liquid handling equipment (additional training provided)
  • Successful mentoring experience with a passion and aptitude for people management
  • Excellent planning / organizing skills with a careful and methodical nature
  • Flexible and able to work in a dynamic environment
