Purpose

PerkinElmer is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior International Trade Compliance Expert to lead and support our global trade compliance operations. This role is critical to ensuring we meet regulatory requirements, minimize risk exposure, and operate efficiently in an evolving global trade landscape—including in response to changing tariffs and geopolitical developments.

This position reports to the Americas Compliance Senior Manager and works cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Legal, Regulatory Affairs, and Commercial teams.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. and international import/export laws, including EAR, ITAR, OFAC, and other applicable regulations.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in trade regulations, tariffs, and trade programs (e.g., Section 301 & 232, USMCA, FTAs) and advise the business on necessary actions needed to ensure compliance .
  • Conduct internal audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews; develop and track corrective actions.
  • Tariff Classification & Trade Controls
  • Oversee the Tariff Management program centered around Section 232 duties, Duty Drawback, and Free Trade Agreements
  • Manage country of origin determination and valuation for import/export documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records to support preferential trade programs and duty drawback.
  • Operational Execution
  • Oversee day-to-day trade operations, including customs entries, export documentation, and licensing.
  • Partner with brokers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers to ensure timely and compliant movement of goods.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve the Tariff Management program
  • Training, Systems & Collaboration
  • Develop and deliver trade compliance training to relevant stakeholders across the organization.
  • Support the implementation and optimization of trade compliance modules within ERP or trade management systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of compliance into business practices.
  • Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Law, or related field.
  • Minimum of 6–8 years of experience in global trade compliance, preferably in the life sciences, medical device, or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. import/export regulations and tariff regimes with a focus on Section 232, Free Trade Agreements, and Duty Drawback

Preferred Characteristics

  • In-depth knowledge of HTS classification, , and country of origin rules.
  • Experience managing broker relationships and customs processes.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and trade tools (GTS, Amber Road, Integration Point, Descartes).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and project management skills with an emphasis on leading cross-functional projects and programs

The annual compensation range for this full-time position is $105,000 to $115,000. The final base pay offered to the successful candidate will be determined by factors including internal equity, work location, as well as individual qualifications, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
