Would you like to wake up every day to a career that doesn’t just sell products, but has the potential to improve the quality of life for millions of people worldwide?  PerkinElmer Informatics, the global leader in scientific analytics SaaS solutions, is seeking a seasoned Biology Product Marketing Lead who is a biology expert, an amazing storyteller, a fearless strategist, and a results-oriented business leader to drive our biology solutions product marketing. This includes everything from narrative, positioning, branding, content development to field/sales enablement and demand generation – being the quarterback for the entire solution area, an evangelist and often a spokesperson in front of customers, partners, and sellers. When it comes to Biology at PerkinElmer, you will be the go-to person.

The ideal candidate is a commercially oriented biology expert. Because our solutions are most frequently applied in drug discovery and development, this specific position focuses on informatics solutions for testing therapeutic leads and candidates. Individuals with experience and deep knowledge of in vitro assays and in vivo studies, covering a range of DMPK, ADME, Toxicology, Pharmacology, and BioAnalysis workflows, are a perfect fit for this position. This position does not focus on the solutions for the ideation, synthesis, and management of Biologics, including bioprocess and molecular biology.

In this highly visible role, you are persuasive and insightful with scientists, chemists, engineers, executives, analysts, and partners as you articulate complex business problems being solved by our complex  data solutions, ultimately solving for greater value and benefits that PerkinElmer can bring to our customers.


  • Customers. Be the voice of PerkinElmer Informatics for biology. (~30%)
    • Lead a biology-centric customer advisory board
    • Provide thought leadership and oversight for biology projects
    • Engage with customers on case studies and ROI analyses
    • Build relationships with enthusiastic biology references
  • Product Marketing (~25%)
    • Drive the strategy and execution that will enable growth of the biology business
    • Define our biology GTM strategy, plan, timelines and reporting of execution
    • Integrate biology into all appropriate cross company GTM motions
    • Partner with Business planning teams on business model
    • Uncover opportunities to grow the business with new narratives and scenarios that engage new audiences and sales communities
  • Messaging and Content (~25%)
    • Become an expert on PerkinElmer Informatics biology capabilities and develop product positioning across customer use cases
    • Create amazing biology-centric marketing content including presentations, demos, and competitive positioning
    • Collaborate on biology-centric marketing programs including events, webinars, and thought-leadership content
    • Innovate on how scenario examples and demos are shared with non-technical and technical audiences
    • Build a core and technical product marketing content for customers, partners, and field
  • Sales & Market (~15%)
    • Lead internal enablement sessions around market positioning, solution capabilities, and customer workflows
    • Participate in biology-centric sales deals to gather first-hand intelligence on customer needs and objections
    • Deliver biology-centric tools to sales/ Field Application Specialist (FAS) teams and run regular training sessions
    • Field ad hoc biology-centric content and support requests from the sales/FAS team
    • Keep a pulse on trends in the market as well as completive landscape
  • Product Management Liaison (~5%)
    • Be the biology-centric “eyes and ears” for product management
    • Raise organizational visibility to gaps & concerns

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in enterprise software, technology, or consulting companies working within biopharma industry in a Research and Development function.
  • PhD or master’s in biology, with a focus on DMPK, ADME, toxicology, pharmacology, and bioanalysis workflows

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Outstanding ability to convey value proposition and insights drawing from prior industry experience and acquired familiarity with PerkinElmer products and use cases
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong will to win in the marketplace
  • Polished presenter with executive presence, can serve as trusted advisor to highly technical audience (research scientists, managers, executives)
  • Sharp, analytical, and willing to question the status quo
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Prioritize well and move easily between long-term projects and short-term deal sprints
  • Self-starter with a dynamic, confident personality
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and wear multiple hats
  • Creative and strategic thinker
  • Experience in a Sales environment and interacting with customer teams preferred
  • Willingness and enthusiasm to work directly with our customers across the world (periodic domestic and international travel, when safe and acceptable to do so)
