o Act as technical lead for multiple projects by planning and executing lab experiments.

o Supervise and mentor junior level team members.

o Document all observations and findings according to Perkin Elmer Design Control Process.

o Design and conduct experiments using hybridization capture, amplicon panel, and RNA-based NGS workflows.

o Analyze and interpret data.

o Present experimental findings and interpretations to research team members, cross-functional leaders, and senior management.

o Demonstrate technical proficiency in nucleic acid extraction, amplification, hybridization, and sequencing library preparation workflows.

o Demonstrate ability to collaborate with others.

o Actively trouble shoot and identify opportunities for optimization, applications, and products.

o Participate in both the design review and document control process and activities.

Education and Experience:

o Ph.D. in relevant life sciences field (i.e.; genetics, molecular or cellular biology, or similar).

o >5-year experience after PhD (including (> 2 years industry experience) with demonstrated direct hands-on experience with NGS library preparation, target enrichment, and sequencing run set up .

o Illumina NGS workflow and platform experience required (with Ion Torrent workflow and platform experience a plus).

o Must demonstrate in-depth understanding of underlying sequencing technologies and mechanisms.

Other Requirements:

o Highly multiplexed amplicon PCR experience preferred (multiplex primer design experience a plus)

o Demonstrated hands-on experience with RNA-Seq is a plus

o Demonstrated experience in product or assay launch is required (IVD experience not required)

o Demonstrated understanding of NGS data analysis pipelines (familiarity with Linux a plus)

o Ability to plan and execute complex experiments in a timely fashion.

o Able to multi-task effectively and be fully committed to project timelines.

o Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

o Good verbal and written communication skills.

o Ability to work in fast pace environment.

o Experience working in a regulated environment under a controlled design review process is preferred.
