Manager, Consumables Sourcing & Portfolio

Responsibilities
Location Albany, New YorkUS Job ID REQ-055542Oversees analysis and assessments that identify problems within company processes, using data from internal and external sources. Provides insight to decision-makers. Manages the identification and interpretation of patterns in datasets to locate influences. Oversees forecasts, recommendations and strategic/tactical plans based on business data and market knowledge. Responsible for anticipating change and providing data and analytics solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Partner closely with commercial & procurement leaders to develop procurement strategy & optimize sourcing of $35M+ annual consumables spend
- Provide regular updates to PerkinElmer senior executives and board level leadership on opportunities, including sharing discrete action plans to drive results
- Develop standard reporting for consumables spend and lead KPI & action tracking reviews with key stakeholders, working closely with data analysis & delivery teams
- Drive improved sourcing performance through identification of new suppliers, local market sourcing, consolidation of spend, and supplier renegotiations
- Develop negotiation strategy for key suppliers, partnering closely with procurement leadership to deliver results that support margin expansion
- Lead cross-functional stakeholders, including R&D, procurement & commercial teams, to deliver targeted savings & optimize portfolio sourcing
- Build deep consumables portfolio understanding and partner with commercial leaders, R&D, and suppliers to identify attractive product portfolio expansion opportunities
- Partner with corporate development leadership to develop an acquisition & partnership roadmap that will drive further consumables growth & margin expansion
- Evaluate potential new product proposals from third parties & partner with corporate development leadership to negotiate agreements that deliver profitable growth
Profile Characteristics:
- Strong analytical ability
- High degree of ownership & accountability
- Good communication & interpersonal skills
- Experience with procurement or sourcing required
- Experience with product management or portfolio strategy preferred
Expected background
- Consultant at top tier firm or big four
- Product Manager at blue chip firm
- Leadership Program at blue chip firm
- Pharma/Life sciences experience preferred but not required
