Essential Functions: Efficient and effective management of the team, meeting or exceeding customer expectations, specifically including:

  • Establish overall direction and provide clear expectations for the team
    • Provide escalation point for internal project priority resolution
    • Proactively manage interpersonal conflict resolution
    • Foster an environment that encourages teamwork and collaboration
    • Develop and lead effective team meetings
  • Mentor and coach all team members
    • Use motivational, development and performance coaching strategies
    • Conduct performance appraisals including but not limited to the individual goal setting process.
    • Foster career development for all team members. This includes career advancement (promotional opportunities or lateral moves within the organization to gain additional skills) along with continual development of the knowledge and skills required for their existing position.
  • Oversee, coach and offer guidance to projects
    • Participate in project kickoff meetings
    • Provide escalation point for customer conflict resolution
    • Manage projects as assigned
  • Partner with the sales team to increase software sales
    • Create and/or review proposals for software services
    • Create and/or review software Requests for Proposals (RFP’s) and/or tenders
    • Participate in sales demonstrations, sales meetings, and/or customer trade shows as required
    • Approve software service contracts
    • Understand the competitive landscape for the Americas for Diagnostics Software products and Services
    • Ensure invoices for software services are sent and paid in a timely fashion
  • Oversee the human resource needs of the team
    • Manage the hiring process for new employees as well as consultants and temporary hires
    • Perform salary reviews and distribute team bonuses as appropriate
    • Approve PTO requests, GELCO expense reports and travel schedules for direct reports
  • Manage financials
    • Manage team budget
    • Responsible for top-line revenue target
    • Grow business and request resources and capital as required
  • Continually review and improve team processes and project turnaround times
  • Interface with appropriate PerkinElmer groups such as Customer Care, Technical Services, Customer Support, and Legal.
